Description

What is 2507 Super Duplex Stainless Steel ?

The higher chromium and molybdenum content of 2507 super duplex steel makes it have strong resistance to overall corrosion of organic acids such as formic acid and acetic acid. 2507 super duplex steel also has strong corrosion resistance to inorganic acids, especially those containing chlorides. 2507 super duplex steel is used in dilute hydrochloric acid environment and has strong resistance to pitting corrosion and crevice corrosion.

2507 Super Duplex Stainless Steel Good For:

After suitable solution treatment of 2507 duplex steel, the microstructure of this steel has an ideal dual-phase structure with a ratio of α/γ of about 50/50. When the solution temperature is above 1050 °C, the number of ferrite phases in the steel will increase with the increase of temperature, but due to the high nitrogen content, the phase ratio of the steel below 1300 °C will not change significantly. If the steel is not aged at different temperatures (or affected by heat), γ2 will form on the α+γ matrix and oxides such as δ, χ, R, α` intermetallic phases and Cr2N will be precipitated. Due to the carbon content in the steel Low (generally 0.01%-0.02%), so there are generally no carbides in the steel.

The lower carbon content of 2507 greatly reduces the risk of intergranular carbide precipitation during heat treatment, therefore, this alloy is highly resistant to carbide-related intergranular corrosion.
